What is the epoxy resin?

The epoxy resin is a thermostable polymer which converts from a liquid state to a solid one when a hardener or catalyst is applied, it has many names, epoxy resin, epoxy, porcelain or liquid glass, the most used resin is a mix of Bisphenol a and Epichlorohydrin.

What is the epoxy resin used for?

The epoxy resin has a multitude of uses, for example as an ahesive for engineering, as its use is very extended in the construction industry and the fixing of all types of vehicles, cars, motor bikes, bikes and planes.

In the use of electronics and electricity, to avoid short circuits many parts are encapsulated with epoxy resin to protect them from dust and moisture.

in boats and sufboards, practially all types of instruments exposed to corrosion by sea salt, humidiy and sun can benefit from the protection of the epoxy resin, which together with polyester gel the protection of the sun is even total for boats, yachts, surfboards etc….

in the constraction of molds, these materials composed of resin and catalysts are perfect for the manufacture of molds, these being cheaper than those produced by metal or wood.

The food industry, which uses epoxy resin in tomato cans to avoid corrosion by tomato acid.

But without doubt the main use for which this resin is known is the creation of continuos floors or pavements of great length.

The advantages of epoxy resin

Thanks to the brightness, transparency and hardness, epoxy resin is one of the most used materials in floor covering due to qualities such as:

100% legal for business

As the epoxy resin is totally no-slip it complies with European regulations for industrial kitchens and retail premises, including the inspection of PRL (prevention of occupational risks)

Resistant to high temperatures

Thanks to the composition of the epoxy resin it supports prolonged temperatures of up to 45 º without problems and in small times of up to 70º.

Resistance to corrosion

As we said above it is a material that is used in the construction of ships, supporting a prolonged exposure to corrosive chemial agents.

Ideal for high traffic floors

The physical resistane of 65n epoxy resin per square metre makes it the ideal material for industrial floors, warehouses, garages or processing plants. Holding without problem all the have material movement within these sites. It has a lifespan of up to 40 years.

Radiating floor

The liquid crystal floors are equipped with modern technologs, allowing the installation of undersloor heating without the floor suffering at any time.

Auto leveling and does not shrink

The epoxy resin hardly contracts with temperature changes, it is not combustible or emits toxic substances, in addition the absence of solvents makes the epoxy resin level along the entire surface leaving a totally smooth floor, without cracks and without joints.

Polyvalent

In addition to floors, we use epoxy resin to create countertops, tables, swimming pools or even bar tops as you an see in our products, apart from being used in many more fields as we have seen above.

Cleaning and easy application

Epoxy resin coatings are applied with great ease and are cleaned comfortably due to their perfect flexibiltiy, wetting and adhesion. It is also antibacterial, repels dust and is easily cleaned with water or just soap.
